KICKing off the Holiday Season
December 5-11

Now I have a machine gun. Ho Ho Ho.

It’s easy to forget how much Die Hard changed the action movie landscape. John McClane wasn’t a killing machine, he was an everyman who just wouldn’t give up. Throw in a perfectly villainous Alan Rickman and you’ve got an all-time great action movie, and a bono-fide Christmas classic.

A Satoshi Kon Classic Returns

How are these guys not dead?

As kids, we loved this movie for the slapstick traps and goofy performances. As adults, we can’t help but notice that Kevin McCallister (Macauley Culkin) has terrible parents and might be a psychopath. This may actually improve the film, but it’s definitely a different viewing experience.

Never feed them after midnight

Of course we’re playing Gremlins again. It’s got director Joe Dante (The Howling), writer Chris Columbus (The Goonies), and even a Dick Miller cameo (His seventh in a film we’ve played). Basically, it’s a bunch of our favorite people making a goopy holiday horror-satire.

the hap-hap-happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap danced with Danny F***ing Kaye.

Join the Griswold’s for another disastrous, fun old-fashioned family Christmas. Christmas Vacation may be the closest thing we have to a holiday tradition; we’ve played it every year since re-opening the theater.

MUPPETS

This Muppet rendition of Charles Dickens' classic tale puts a unique twist on that fateful Christmas Eve, when Scrooge (Michael Caine, who is not a Muppet) is visited by the Ghost Muppets of Christmas Past, Present and Future. Together with kind, humble Bob Cratchit Muppet and his Muppet family, the Spirits open Scrooge's eyes --- and his heart --- to the true meaning of Muppets.

MUPPETS

4 years before Halloween supercharged the slasher genre, Canadian horror flick Black Christmas laid the foundation. When a series of obscene phone calls start to plague the residents of the sorority, it becomes clear that a psychopath is after the sisters. Though police try to trace the calls, the would-be killer continues to elude then, because nothing is as it seems.

IT’S GARBAGE DAY

Did you miss Silent Night Deadly Night Part 1? Don’t worry about it! The first half of Part 2 consists of Ricky (younger brother of the first films mass murdering Billy) delivering a highlights-reel retelling of the first film to his therapist. After that, he sets off on a murderous rampage of his own, seeking vengeance on the Mother Superior that raised him.
