In Paul Verhouven’s gung-hu war satire, Johnny Rico’s military career progresses from recruit to officer against the backdrop of an interstellar battle between mankind and "the Bugs". Starship Troopers is packed with killer effect work, using a seamless combination of practical and computer effects that still look incredible today.
