We’ve developed a sort of symbiotic relationship with Gift, the neighborhood hangout across the street. We bring people to the neighborhood with a movie, and they sell them drinks after.
Hang on, maybe that’s not symbiosis? Are they a business mooch? Either way, from May 2 - 8, they’re saying thanks with a line-up of films, and 10% off for anyone who brings in a same-day Cinemagic ticket stub.

The Fifth Element is a marvel of late 90’s practical effects work, a film overflowing with big ideas, big set pieces, and even bigger performances. It should be a mess, but it moves with so much energy, and such an unflinchingly game cast, that you can’t help but love it.

The Night Comes for Us isn’t for the faint of heart. This Indonesian actioner isn’t afraid to show the consequences of violence, and stars Iko Uwais (The Raid 1 & 2) and Joe Taslim (The Raid, Mortal Kombat) are more than capable of the needed acrobatics. Previously confined to home viewing on Netflix, we’re thrilled to get this one on the big screen.

Pitch Black may have started a franchise (to mixed results) but the original stands alone as a nerve-shredding creature feature. When their ship crashes on a remote desert planet, the survivors band together to find a way home. Among the passengers, a convicted murderer held prisoner. But as an eclipse sends the planet into permanent night, a greater threat reveals itself.

Walter Hill’s loose retelling of the Odyssey transports the action to a mythic version of 70’s New York, where costumed street gangs squabble for territory despite rivaling the police in power. After being framed for the assassination of a charismatic gang leader, the Warriors must survive the perilous journey back to safe haven on Coney Island.
