we take the week off and let our staff run free.

LOGAN: Underworld was a movie I frequently pulled out at sleepovers as a kid, to show my friends a battle between vampires and werewolves, occurring in a that looked like an Evanescence music video. It’s basically Twilight for boys, and it rules.

KAY: Chocolat feels like a fairy tale! Beloved by myself, and my mom, it’s a simple story of a mysterious, nomadic woman, her daughter, and their pop-up exotic chocolate shop. Their little shop strips away the ridged, business as usual, attitude of the villagers (with help from a riverbound Johnny Depp). It also taught me to add cayenne to brownies!

RYAN: Fantastic Mr. Fox is my favorite stop motion picture. It’s a fun and unique film that people of all ages can equally enjoy, and Wes Anderson’s style is perfect for the world of stop motion filmmaking

NICK: We’ve been playing encore shows of The Furious for over 2 months now, and I guess I’m just not ready to let go. If you’ve been to a show, you know why. Director Kenji Tanigaki knows exactly how to work a crowd, and he expertly keeps the whole room flinching, cheering, gasping and laughing together. It’s the kind of big, shared, holy-shit-that-was-cool experience that makes this job so satisfying.

JJ: Lotion, cannibalism, Fava Beans… The Silence of the Lambs has it all! For one of the best movies ever made, it tragically doesn’t get played very often. This will actually be my first time seeing it on the big screen! I’m super stoked to share the experience with you guys.

Friday, Aug 28 - 7:00
Saturday, Aug 29 - 9:10
Thursday, Sep 3 - 7:00

AUSTIN: A manic and brutal crime thriller told like a Grimm fairy tale set in the New Jersey underworld. Running Scared is gnarly, insanely stylish and completely uncompromising. The kind of wild, hard-R genre film that doesn’t get made anymore. Buckle up for a ruthless shot of cinematic adrenaline.

Ethan: My favorite movie! French people talking about life and love on the beach, directed by the master of conversation, Eric Rohmer, at the tail end of his 50-year career.
